Christmas cards for 2014

I had so much fun making all my Christmas cards this year. I bought several sets of stamps with matching dies, it makes cards so fast and fun. Here is a selection of cards that I made.

It is time for Thank You cards!!!

So this thank-you I made to play along with Unity's monthly {be inspired} Challenge.

I just love these little guys from "birdie conversation"!

One-Layer Cards

Day 4

This is my favorite class so far!!!! Such cute cards!! Wonderful, new techniques!!!

I followed Jennifer McGuire's videos and techniques. So cute!

I used Spellbinders scallop dies and Lawn Fawn's "Critters at the Dog Park" stamps and dies

The sentiment and Santa hat are from "Holiday Hounds" by Newton's Nook Design.

Day 3

I really wanted to try Dawn's technique with the wreath - but I don't have one! So I used Simon Says Stamp "Holly Berries". I used Marvy Uchica's Bruch Markers and a water pen. I then used Memento Rich Cocoa for the pinecones. I spritzed the card with Tsukineko's Goosebumps Clear Texture Spray.
I blended the background with Ranger Distress Ink in Weathered Wood and Black Soot. It is a little crazy for me!

 What do you think?

Interactive Cards

Day 2

Though my card is not interactive it does have the cut out (Small Stitched Rectangle) and stamp set (Holly Berries) that Jennifer used.  I love the cut out that is popped up with the stamping on the lower edge.

A Fall Card

For this card I stamped the background with Unity stamps and Memento Rich Cocoa. The frame is Small Stitched Rectangles Stackables and the leaves Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Leaves by Sizzix and the embossing folder.

A Thanksgiving Card

I love this technique of embossing the image in white and then adding the color.  I mounted the leaf with foam tape on top of the stamped leaf. I am all done with my Thanksgiving cards. How about you?

Day 1

Easy to Duplicate Cards

Lots of fun inspirations on Day 1.  I love these classes. The videos are great. The designers are wonderful!

My card is super easy with the a Merry Christmas frame from Simon Says Stamp.  Liquitex Modeling Paste and the Falling Snow Stencil created the snowy background on navy patterned paper with a bit of red Baker's twine.

Thanks for looking!!!!

Lawn Fawn Critters in the Burbs

This is a stand-up birthday card. I used the clouds from Sunny Skies. The bush at the bottom with the bunny is the top of the tree. I do not remember the manufacturer of the Happy Birthday die.

I will link this to the Simon Says Stamp challenge.

having fun! with an angel!

This is a Phyllis Harris designed stamp by Unity Stamps. I used Copics to color the
image. I tried a technique of coloring the background by Jennifer McGuire (I couldn't find the video that demonstrated this technique but she does mention it here). I  went over the image with an embossing pen and then covered that with clear embossing powder and heated it.  I then was able to go in with Distress Ink to color the background. I wish that would have remembered to wipe my card stock with an anti-static because some of the embossing powder stuck to the card in front of her face
resisting the Distress Ink.  I will keep trying!!!!!

THIS CARD WAS A WINNER AT UNITY STAMP CO!!!!

Day 12 - Copic Hacks - Copic Marker for Card Makers

I bought this 4 cup container from Land of Nod. I have touches of turquoise in my
craft room (it is my favorite color)! I certainly don't have many Copic Markers but perhaps I have enough (is there such a thing?). I have ordered a refill for the Colorless Blender and W1 so I really appreciate the information from this lesson. Notice I have the stickers (oh wait, this photo is too blurry to see the stickers!  LOL!!) on my markers.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Day 11 - Hiding Mistakes - Online Copic Markers for Card Makers

Okay so this is the same card as Day 10 but I have been trying to rescue it!
I used many of the same techniques as Kelli used for her critters. I replaced the sled's runners, I used black pen around parts and hid errors with a white gel pen.

Day 10 - Copic Markers for Card Makers - Finishing Touches

I used all the final touches that I could. I did the double blue shadow around the image. I used Heidi Swapp's Glitter pens.  I used Uni-Ball Signo white pen to add snowflakes and to hide errors where I could. I tried to go over the image with a black pen but it smeared badly so I stamped, cut out and pasted a new runner where I tried the pen work.

A little Halloween Card!

Day 7 Difficult Colors Copic Markers for Card Makers

I was so happy to have this class because I wanted to understand how to color a dachshund stamp black and tan (like my dogs!).  I think I can do it!

Copic Markers for Card Makers Day 5

Well now I feel I am in over my head.  The heavier lines of these images (from my printer) are bleeding. I do not have enough colors of markers. Enough excuses.....I am not an artist!!!!

But I do love how a darker color can make a nose!!!!!

Copic Markers for Card Makers - Day 4

Today we learned about directional shading. This is not so easy!  I need to talk to myself as I am coloring to remind me where the light is coming from.  This technique will definitely take some practice.

I am enjoying practicing the techniques that I am learning in this online class!
